The meeting came to order at 7:39 p.m. at the Ding-A-Ling in Raymond. In attendance were Adam, Burt, and Carrie Smith, Barry Froistad, Rick Adams, Char and Brian Schubauer, April Ostransky, Anita Brinkman, Jay, Pam, and Vanessa Butterfield, Levi Bowman, Carrie Fitl, Lisa and Makena Finnell
Minutes for the April meeting were read. Pam moved to approve and April seconded the motion. Pam stood in as Secretary in Jonna’s absence and presented several new memberships.
The Treasurer’s report was read showing $10,000 in savings, $4,236.75 in checking. It is presumed that 5D buckles are paid for, but it may have been just a ½ payment. . That will be confirmed soon. (Post meeting note to confirm that the 5D buckle payment was ½ the total amount) Property and Liability insurance is due May 20 in the amount of $1,219. Vanessa moved the Treasurer’s report be approved and Char seconded the motion.
Playday Report: Char thought it was a good turnout for the first show. The weather was great and things went smoothly.
5D Report: Fran and committee are anxious for the Spring Kickoff this coming Saturday May 6. They have checked the printer and would like a utility cord to do a quick measure if the tractor pulls out a stake. Pam will announce for Neil. Fran will try to figure how much startup cash we will need. This season there will be a prize fee of $10 for existing members and $20 for non-members. All sanctions for BBR, RFB, WPRA AND NPBA are in place. Race will start with exhibitions at 10:00 a.m. then first round of barrels at noon, then poles, then 2nd round of barrels. Rain date is May 13
Roping Report: The first roping was rained out. It was brought to the board and approved to rent out the arena for the Wyatt Anderson Memorial roping to be held June 24. More info to come on that
Speed Report: Lisa reported the first Speed show was rained out but we are ready for the next one scheduled for Friday evening May 12.
Tuesday Night Ride Report: The Tuesday night ride nights finished up in April. There was a deposit held by LEC from the prior year that was applied to this last charge so it ended up not being very much for the last month.
Cook Shack Report: Some water pipes froze connecting to the water heater but thanks to the son of Mustard’s Last Stand, Jake Bennet, those pipes and connections have been replaced and repaired.
Youth Board: Nothing to report.
Web Page: Burt had nothing new to report.
New Business: We received a fundraising letter from the Lancaster County VIP committee requestions donations. Because we had always donated something in the past, it was agreed to donate $100 again this year and that will earn us an ad in the Fair program in August.
There was discussion about what a great group of Board and Officers we have this year and how super everyone is working together and in support of one another. GROUP HUG!
The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 p.m. The next meeting will be June 5 at 7:00 p.m. (NOTE THE TIME CHANGE) at the grounds, weather permitting.
